TRAINEE - FARM WORKER (PACHECO'S)
18-24 year old young Bermudians interested in a career in farming are encouraged to apply for a position as a Trainee with one of Bermuda's largest food producers. This is a "hands on" learning opportunity for the applicant who loves the land and all aspects of farming. Applicants must be exceptionally fit with significant physical stamina to manage long, rigorous work days and able to work in all types weather. A lot of standing and bending and able to independently lift up to 50lbs. Over a 50+ hour work week, the trainee will harvest vegetables by hand, operate relevant farm machinery, irrigation equipment and conduct minor equipment repairs. He will further treat produce and apply herbicides and fungicides in accordance with treatment guidelines. Basic math skills and some mechanical aptitude required. He must be flexible, with an engaging personality and able to work within a close multicultured team; and equally able to meet, greet and educate customers about product quality and the Pacheco standard. Applications will be accepted from focused, drug free Bermudians, spouses thereof and PRC certificate holders who are able to commit to a rigorous 3 year training program.
Applicants must be skilled at top grade (5+ years of verifiable experience) in all aspects of masonry and be capable of working on own initiative, lead a small team and comfortable with plans and blueprints. Must be physically fit with own transportation. Must be able and willing to facilitate the company’s masonry apprenticeship training program and directly instruct and assess trainee performance. Candidates holding some form of carpentry skill will be favorably considered. Must be willing to work a minimum 50 hour work week where the work day begins at 7am and will extend through 5 or 6pm Mondays through Fridays, with willingness to work weekends, and public holidays as projects demand.

LANDSCAPE / HARDSCAPE GARDENER
Holding at least 5 years of professional experience, fully supported by at least 2 written references generally, applicants must have the ability to identify different grasses, plants and shrubs, skilled in trimming hedges and trees, fertilizing, pruning and gardening, and have experience with fertilization and insecticide application. An excellent timekeeper, the successful applicant must further be able to install walkways, stone patios and garden walls. Must be reliable, with a good attitude, a solid work ethic and a demonstrated commitment to excellence and the ability to work within multi-cultured work teams. Must be willing to work a minimum 50 hour work week under seasonally extreme conditions where the work day begins at 7am and will extend through 5 or 6pm Mondays through Fridays, with willingness to work weekends, and public holidays as projects demand and able to move freely about the island. CERTIFIED CAREGIVER / HOUSEKEEPER
Holding formal childcare or nursing aide certifications and / or having at least 5 years of progressive sole charge experience, the applicant will support the expansive portfolio of resident and visitor clients requiring specialist childcare / housekeeping support. Duties will include all elements of personal care of families and have responsibility for cleaning, housekeeping, grocery shopping and meal preparation. The incumbent will be required to work a flexible 40 – 50 hour week to attend to the needs of each family where some travel may be required. Candidates who are able to live-in as required will be favorably considered. Significant late night, overnight, weekend and public holiday work schedule. All applicants must be First Aid / CPR / Basic Life Support certified and pass medical testing on a monthly basis. Persons with specialist experience and training in caring for Dementia / Alzheimers sufferers will be favorably considered.
Must be able to driving test within 3 months of employment.
Having a mindset focused on growth and development within the Masonry trade, applicants must be prepared to commit to a 5 year Masonry training program, are encouraged to make application for an Apprentice position with a large, local contractor to ultimately qualify as a “Top Grade Mason”. Must have some basic level of technical “Core” understanding, but no experience required – just a good, positive attitude! Must be able to commit to long days / weeks in this junior position supporting the work of top grade Masons – mixing concrete, digging trenches / channels, clean up, materials procurement, sand sift etc. Must be personable, flexible, able to receive and act on instruction from senior staff and subs, respectful of time and property and able to work collaboratively within a multi cultured work environment. Must be in excellent physical condition, able to work islandwide and have his own transportation.
